I had high hopes for this game and really liked the art and concept. But overall it just seems to have wound up as a sloppy platformer.
I wouldn't just rate the camera as annoying; I'd call it an enemy programmed into the game that you can't defeat. Imagine playing the game with a tapeworm. No really, I think I spent more time fighting with the camera than I did with any of the actual enemies. There are times where you have to take a blind leap of faith because the camera isn't looking where you need it to and you can't adjust it there. Towards the end of the game you are fighting enemies in a small circular room and the camera refuses to focus on anything other than the walls. It turns what would otherwise be a laughably under powered boss into an exercise in frustration. There are very few different types of enemies as you progress through the game and by the end they're more of an annoyance than anything else.
The story is decent but much of the game relies on annoying fetch quests. Meaning you spend a lot of time going between areas to run errands for other characters. Between each area in the game there is a 2D section based on old Disney cartoons. They're good for sections you only travel between once or twice, but when it's between 2 areas you go back and forth to a lot it just gets annoying with no way to skip it. Sometimes the objectives are a little too vague so I wound up skipping things accidentally when I'd happen on to what I was supposed to do later, skipping over what I was supposed to do now with no way to go back.
At the end I was hoping for a way to go back in and visit or even just look at the items I'd collected, but instead it just starts you back on another play-through.
