Simple and casual... works greats without looking feminine,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lewis N. Clark Urban Gear Canvas Messenger Bag (Apparel)
After finally purchasing a full-sized tablet for myself I decided I didn't want to carry it around in my hand all the time, nor did I want to leave it at home. So, it was time I embraced the man-bag (ha). Well, took me a while to find something that was casual without being feminine and wouldn't draw unnecessary attention to myself. It's a very simple bag that has a nice 'worn' look to it. Personally, I think it blends in quite nicely with a pair of jeans or pretty much any casual clothing. The picture makes it look like it's always 'square' or full, but it's not. The picture provided was definitely taken with some sort of filler inside, because the bag lays pretty flat and widens out when you need it to as you put more stuff in it.
It's got a great amount of space without being too large of a bag. So far, I've thrown an iPad Air with a Logitech Fabricskin keyboard case, a regular sized Bible in it and some other smaller types of items and still had some room to spare. I'd actually have rated it a 5 if it wasn't for one very minor questionable design decision: the zipper that seals the bag does not actually seal the bag all the way. The zipper is connected to the bag in a way where both of the corners are actually separated from the bag corner. This leaves about a quarter-sized hole in the bag where - if you were to say turn the bag upside down - smaller items such as loose pens or things like that could easily slide out. Granted, I say this is a minor issue because why would you be turning the bag upside down anyway? Plus, the way the bag and zipper are connected the hole is pinched shut for the most part during regular use anyway. Don't go on rollercoasters with the bag is all I'm saying (haha). Still, for the price, simplicity and casualness of the bag you'll be hard-pressed to find a better option. I'm actually tempted to buy another just to have as a backup.
Finally, I like the orange interior and a colored interior is actually something I was searching for. Why? Simple: easier to find things. Dark interiors are nice and all, but try throwing some darker, smaller objects into a bag and then see how easy it is to find things. Or, just look at women who have dark interior purses and how long it takes for them to find things. After buying some regular luggage for myself that had a similar orange interior and noticing how much easier it was to spot things (especially small electronics that are normally black) I was forever sold on colored interiors and this one delivers well in that area.
