5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best (Sports) Movies Ever!, June 25, 2008
Length:: 1:02 Mins

'Hoosiers' is a super sports' tale
About headstrong coach Norman Dale,

Who Comes to Indiana's Hickory,
A tiny town set on victory.

Norman's way comes first and foremost.
No wins for him to brag or to boast.

Warming a cold shoulder from icy Myra Fleener.
Chilly stares and curt comments couldn't be keener.

Jimmy's the town basketball hero.
Opting out brings success down to zero.

With help from Shooter, the village drunk.
The prospects get higher with every slam dunk.

Jimmy's the hero in every way.
Can he help Norman save the day?

Watch 'Hoosiers' if you haven't seen.
One of the greatest sports' movies there's ever been.

Amen! This is one of the best sports movies ever made. I have thought of reviewing this and never got around to it. Maybe your review will motivate me to get my act together (or not!). Loved the video clip; enjoy the poetry. This was a classic and done well all around--fine acting, neat cinematography for what it is (the drive through Indiana with the fall trees is pretty cool). Fine review, indeed. . . .

Thanks, Dan, and I especially appreciate it because you can see I'm a novice and still a little shaky with the camera.

Thanks, Matt, I appreciate you stoppin' by. I don't know if you've seen 'Hoosiers' yet, but I love it through and through. It's one of the greatest and most favorite movies I can think of on my list. I'm changed every time I watch it. I neglected to mention Hackman, Hershey, Hopper, et al, are great!

Go for it! Just like the shot in the movie. I like all the factors you've mentioned, Steven, and I would like to add that aside from the marvelous characters, the realistic acting, the splendid action scenes, the corny little band and scenes, I absolutely LOVE the music in the movie. Just like with the video camera, I need to work on my poetry, but at least it's an effort, flaws and all. You only get better with practice' something the movie tells us time and time again. Thanks, y'all ;>)

Very spooky! A disembodied hand picks up the DVD case and, all of a sudden, it's floating in mid air! Interesting review - and well done with rhyme. Then again, I can't get over your incredible resemblance to Gene Hackman! Almost stand-in double quality!

Cheerio - Metamorpho ;)

LOL! You're too much, Metamorpho! I mean that in a good way, though. ;>)

Thanks, MKIA, and that's the best tribute to the movie: "I love the movie," and you're not even a big basketball fan. It's a great movie. That's why I put the word 'Sports' in parentheses. People love the characters, the plot, the story, the romance, and the conflict with or without giving a hoot about the sport. Yep. :>)

It's always good to try and reinvent the wheel when we can. Yes, this is one of the truly great films. Thanks for your encouragement. Keepin' my mind in the game, JP ;>)
