good product - works as advertised to eliminate water hammer on front loaders - mine lasted 3 years,

This review is from: Sioux Chief Mfg 660-H 3/4-Inch Female Swivel Hose Thread by 3/4-Inch Male Hose Thread Mini Rester (Tools & Home Improvement)
The other reviewers have this turf pretty well covered. I'll only emphasize a few points. first, these are designed to be attached to the appliance - not the hose bib side. If you don't do this, the hose expansion and contraction will exaggerate the water hammer effect. second, these work equally well in any orientation (confirmed by the installation instructions). in my case i tilted them to about a 45 degree angle off vertical for clearance, but upside down would work as well if you could orient the supply hoses in that position. third, if your supply lines are even partially secured against the framing, this should eliminate the water hammer. It entirely and immediately eliminated my considerable water hammer created when we changed to a new front loader. Several of the reviewers have commented that front loaders seem to be a common source of water hammer problems. I can confirm this from my experience as well. the three previous top loaders of various manufacture did not create a water hammer problem.
based on my experience this is about all one could expect of a water hammer arrestor. Recommended.
Update: one of these arrestors failed after 3 years (almost to the date). They worked great while they lasted. However, I'll take this opportunity to replace with either an LPC P-06399 ($19) or a IPS 86600 ($21.50) to see if they provide greater life.
