This review is from: Lenovo G575 43834WU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black Textured) (Personal Computers)Fry's had this on sale today, the 2GB version for $249. I picked one up since my X61 was getting temperamental.
I figured for $249, how bad could it be? Well...with Windows 7 (and I'm a Mac guy as a rule) the computer is just fine for general use. Quick enough loading web pages, and, unlike the usual assortment of crapware that most computers come pre-loaded with? Office Starter (Word and Exel) for free!
I'm just a happy little guy-I would have easily spent more on a used computer, not had the most current OS, not had the upgradability (I bet when I move this to 8GB of ram it will fly!) and really, for my purposes I think this was a great buy! Highly recommend.

Maybe I saw you in Frys this noon? :-)
I have tried 8G already. It did not fly. I guess the limitation is mainly from the CPU. So 4G is enough.
I feel it is good enough for Internet surfing and document editing.
By the way, I like the screen.

Taking the computer at face value-for the money (I paid $249) it was a great machine. I don't see why it wouldn't handle this program, but the conventional wisdom is always to max out the ram, and go from there. It's a steal at that price but if you're going to be running a high end program, I would probably invest another hundred or two and pick up an I5 or I7 machine. Sort of like towing a travel trailer with a truck that has a small 6 cylinder engine or a big V8-you'll still get there, but not as quickly.

WoW! Thanks for the quick reply and info. I was actually looking at Ultrabooks but got an Amazon email about this laptop so I took a look and thought maybe I could save a few hundred bucks. I guess I'll just stick with my original plan. And to answer the question going thru your mind, I'm not computer/systems smart but I'm learning CS5 for a new business and just need a computer that will get me started once I'm on my own. Again, thanks for the info...

Mine came from Fry's for $247 with 2G of RAM. I ordered another 2G's and I'll see if that makes a diff in speed or not. Did you see any diff when you added RAM? Oh, what did your machine start with?
