5.0 out of 5 stars From the most genuine person on TV, April 16, 2014
This review is from: Family: The Good "F" Word: The Life-Changing Action Plan for Building Your Best Family (Hardcover)
This man is truly invested in family and dealing with what is real. Never "let's see how things will work out," but rather taking action in very concrete terms towards improvement in the cohesion of all the members that your unique family is comprised of. Mr. Dunn is genuinely invested in ensuring healthy families, with sincere care for one and other. You do not need a PhD or other family therapy degree...there are many different ways to get to know family...(There are many PhDs and therapists who haven't encountered the many diverse families that Mr. Dunn has had the opportunity to learn from...oh and their expertise derived from education, all too often does not generalize to their own family's function!) It's about understanding what works and the commonalities in terms of interactions within family relationships that are almost identical cross-culturally. Therefore I'd highly recommend this book, no matter your ethnicity/ cultural background. The practical guidance towards improvement in your family's life you will cherish forever.

The most genuine man on tv? Lolololol, your review is hilarious and I am laughing so hard! Troy Dunn is the one of the phoniest men who has ever lived and is in the league of Jerry Farwell and Jim Baker. He says one minute " you can't have peace until you have all the pieces" but then turns around and tries to keep Veronica and Dusten Brown from having ANY peace at all by advocating for them to be separated. Seriously, how much did Troy Dunn pay you to write this review?

Diane says:
Troy Dunn has a skewed view as to how to treat a healthy functioning family. Veronica Brown, age 4, was in a healthy, functioning family with her father (who loved and wanted to parent her from birth) and her stepmom (called "mommy" by Veronica). For whatever reason, Troy Dunn used his influence to separate Veronica from her family and deliver her to a wealthy, barren couple who lived 1,000 miles away. If Troy Dunn really valued family, then why would he seek to break up Veronica's? By all accounts, Veronica was happy, well-loved, well-fed, and thriving (reading at age 4! smiling and playing with her half-sister!). I find it difficult to read advice about "healthy families" from a man who thought that a young girl belonged with a wealthier, older couple, rather than with her father. His actions on this case is relevant to this specific book because both the case and the book deal with family issues.
