Good for a couple of months then FAN FAIL!,
This review is from: Acer X1161P 3D-DLP Projector (Office Product)
Its a good unit until it gets the FAN FAIL problem.
Sent it to ACER and did not replace my unit nor the fan, they simply dusted the inside and when i received my projector back the top cover was all scratched.
Call costumer service they wouldn't do anything about it, sent a letter to corporate and never heard from them.
You may or may not have any issues with the projector, my recommendation is to look for another brand or at least some other company that has a better costumer service.

Olosnah Crafts says:
I did not read when searching for a projector. I was not aware of all the choices. This projector lasted around 6 months before the indicator light went from BLUE (on) to PURPLE (it did not say what this meant in the manual). Six months after the light indicator I started to get fan fail. I cleaned the inside and it worked for a month or two until the fan fail returned. I left the top off of the projector so I could determine which fan was failing, but the system would test the fans in the unit (there are two each one a different style/part) when it was "FAN FAIL" and turn both fans on full blast. It has to be a wiring or power supply fault, but it is not worth it. After I had received the projector I realized that 3-D READY does not mean it will work. This projector works at 60 hertz, you need 120 hertz to get 3-D or use a computer as it states under price that has 3-D ready devices on it. On the back of the unit there is no HDMI port. I cannot recommend this as a portable unit as well due to the fan fails. After RESEARCH and reading comments I am now purchasing the Vivitek D512-3D 2600 Lumen SVGA HDMI 120 Hz 2D to 3D Portable DLP Projector, which promises most 2-D content to 3-D without a buffer of some sort. Thanks.
