Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nano 2.4G Wireless Optical Mouse with DPI Switch (Black) (Personal Computers)
After reading other reviews, I am wondering if there are two different versions of this device, one with a blue laser that performs flawlessly, and one with a red laser that has issues with the buttons sticking.
Sadly, I was sent one with a red laser, and the left button is strong, but right button stuck after my very first click. In addition, the mouse will not work at all if I put the battery cover on the mouse. The cover seems to fit, but it apparently forces the battery into a position where it loses contact and shuts down completely. This is ridiculous. Where is the quality control?
Needless to say I am sending back this useless garbage.
I bought this mouse from another seller that clearly stated that they were selling the version with the BLUE LASER. Sure enough, the blue laser mouse arrived and WORKS FLAWLESSLY!
So, to make it clear
YES, THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THIS DEVICE. ONE WITH A RED LASER AND ONE WITH A BLUE LASER. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE (and also based on reading other reviews here) THE RED LASER DEVICE IS PRONE TO SERIOUS DEFECTS, AND THE BLUE LASER DEVICE WORKS AS DESCRIBED. I SUGGEST THAT YOU NOT PURCHASE A MOUSE OF THIS TYPE UNLESS THE MERCHANT CLEARLY STATES THAT THEY ARE SELLING THE VERSION WITH THE BLUE LASER.

May I ask which seller did you buy from that shipped the blue laser model?

Sorry to repeat Evan's question, but could you tell us the name anyway? Because the list of available sellers is always changing. Sellers often disappear and then relist again when an item is back in stock. And at the very least it will help people know which seller doesn't have to be *avoided*.

I really don't know what the seller's name was anymore... sorry. HOWEVER, the key is that link above (the link included in my response to Evan's question) to the mouse that specifically says "BLUE Optical light" in the item name. I.e., unlike THIS listing (which is completely ambiguous as to the laser color), the item that I linked to appears to be identical BUT it is not the ambiguous in the title. Go with that Blue laser mouse linked above.

I have the mouse with a red laser. It has been performing flawlessly for me. Installed with no problems and set up on the Bluetooth without my even having to think about. The buttons seem to be a little chintzy (hey, it's only 5 buck$!) but when I'm using it, I don't really pay much attention to that detail because it works. Mine was distributed by Etekcity and I'm going to post favorable feedback.
