This review is from: Moleskine 2011 12 Month Daily Planner Black Hard Cover Large (Calendar)I spend this time every year looking for a planner for the upcoming year...and end up purchasing something in mid january when everything is almost sold out and nothing was quite what i was looking for. There are the way over priced executive ones which are overkill for day to day notes and ocassional appointments, or the high school type which are a bit to little, and tend to have pictures or cartoony designs on them. For the last few years I have purchased a Mead plastic cover planner which was the best compromise I could find. It has served well, but was never exactly what I was looking for- not to small, but not a binder either, durable for carrying around, good for notes (basically a journal with out the "diary" feel), and something I could keep for years on the shelf (but not an unlined blank book. It didnt seem like to much to ask, but i never found it.
This holiday season i was in a book store and saw these...I owned a Moleskine hardcover or two but had never seen the planners. Absolute perfection. Hard or softcover available, and up to a full page for each day which allows it to be a journal/planner which is how i would say i use it. Pocket in the back for a few keepsakes or ticket stubs, and a surprise to me, a removable address book.
I wish I had found this book 5 years ago, it would have been the perfect record book and stored nicely on the shelf instead of the spiral books I have in the drawer. For the Amazon price (which is quite below suggested bookstore retail) it's a bargain by far. A decent one at Walmart is around ten dollars- for under $20 this one is a world more and the paper is acid free, so it will stand the test of time.
I found this to be the PERFECT Journal/Planner on the market, and would probably pay as much as $50 since its exactly what i was looking for. I will be using this for as long as they make them.
