This review is from: Audubon Butterflies - A Field Guide to North American Butterflies (App)
I am a complete butterfly novice. The only thing I know about butterflies is that they started out as caterpillars.

I was expecting this app to be informative, filled with extremely colorfull and detailed photos, and heavy on the scientific language. I am shocked that the Audubon society would allow this type of low-grade publication to bear their name.

After browsing the app for @15 minutes, I've deleted it. The photos in the app are low-quality and really not informative given the complexity of the subject matter of the text. The text itself is another issue.

There are so many parts of the text where the words don't have any spacing between them. There are two or three words crammed together, with no spaces between the words, so its like trying to decipher a code without the code key. There are other places in the text where it seems that a word or two is missing from the sentence. Some of the apps text is so poorly written that there is no way to figure out what the entire paragraph is talking about. Here's an example of what I'm referring to:
"Egg and chrysallis overwinter but the butterfly does soonly rarely."

I have taken the above sentence directly from the app. As I originally said, I am a butterfly novice but, that sentence makes no sense to me and this app is littered with sentences just like it.

Finally, upon clicking on a link in the text of the app it wanted to download another 600mb of data to my kindle and it said it would actually like to download an additional 1200mb after that.

1200mb of more fuzzy pictures along with text that makes absolutely no sense? Really? My six year old could do a better job at the pictures and the text.

To summarize - although I did learn a little from the time I spent with the app, my advice on this one is to stick with google and wiki rather than waste the space on your device with this app.
