Best shoes I've had in years,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rockport Men's Rugged Bucks Mudguard Waterproof Boot (Shoes)
I'm a pretty big guy... 6'3" and 215 lbs, and I'm hard on my shoes. I've had cheap shoes, and I've had shoes from some well-known brands: Converse, Tsubo, Diesel, North Face, Kenneth Cole, Clarks, Sperrys... and I'm lucky if they last me a year. Often it's more like 6 months. So I decided I'd have to get myself something a little more rugged, despite not particularly liking a bulky shoe. I don't like clunky style (size 12 is big enough as it is) and I don't like a heavy shoe.
But, I decided I needed to suck it up and get something more rugged if I wanted it to last more than a year. I tried Blundtstones, and I just don't like the fit. I searched and searched for something with a decent sole (I've had boat shoes where the toe scuffs and wears through because the sole doesn't come far up enough), a tough material, but still didn't look like Doc Martens.
I've been wearing these shoes for a couple of weeks now, and they are fantastic. Much lighter than I expected, and plenty comfortable. Cushioned without feeling pillowy, thanks (I imagine) to the AdiPrene sole. The oiled leather is tough and easy to care for, and I'm looking forward to a long life in these guys. I hope I'm not disappointed!

Well, a year and 3 months is not bad, I guess, but was really hoping for more. The upper separated from the sole near the ball of my foot, right where it bends. I guess the search for comfortable, durable, decent-looking shoes begins anew.
