Valuable information and a great dream-book, too!,
This review is from: The Milepost 2012 (Paperback)
I saw my first copy of "Milepost" when my mother and sister prepared to move to Alaska in 1973. In '77 I bought a copy for myself as I set my sights there myself. Over the 20 years I lived in The Great Land, I owned numerous annual editions as I traveled around the state and through western Canada. I found it particularly valuable when I drove out (temporarily) in '92, down the Cassiar Highway where services were often widely spaced.
In between road trips, I read the "Milepost" the way I used to read the old Sears, Roebuck & Co "wish-books" in my childhood, daydreaming of places I wanted to visit. The books provided hours of fuel for my wanderlust, then gave me the details I needed to eventually make a lot of those dreams come true.
If you have any interest whatsoever in Alaska, you need the "Milepost"!
