2.0 out of 5 stars No schedule D for 2013 in Deluxe Package, December 20, 2013
This review is from: TurboTax Deluxe Fed, Efile and State 2013 + Refund Bonus Offer [Old Version] (Software)
Thats a deal breaker for me after a dozen years + with Turbotax.....going HR block, its cheaper than TT anyway.

WD... The CD/downloadable version of Schedule D IS SUPPORTED. If it is not in your version, it would be as a result of the IRS not yet releasing the final version. Schedue D is not, however, part of the TurboTax Online Deluxe product.

Schedule D is part of the TurboTax Deluxe package. But at present the IRS hasn't finalized the 2013 Schedule D form, therefore the finalized form isn't currently available in any TurboTax product, nor is it available in H&R Block's tax software.

This isn't a big deal at this point, and it certainly isn't Intuit's fault. Late approval of the IRS forms affects every software maker equally.

So WD, it looks like you were commenting on the wrong product? This version DOES include Schedule D.

I know and I agree Bob. That's exactly what I posted on 12/21. The reason I posted not buying that story is; why would Intuit choose to to take 2 products nearly identically named just with different delivery platforms and cut a major component from one? That seems a bit sketchy to me. And it nearly cost me money.

I also find it interesting that in your response you refer to the online product as;

Schedue D is not, however, part of the TurboTax Online Deluxe product

When Amazon uses the same first 10 words to name each of the respective products;

TurboTax Deluxe Fed + Efile + State 2013 with Refund Bonus Offer [Download] by Intuit - PC Download

TurboTax Deluxe Fed, Efile and State 2013 with Refund Bonus Offer by Intuit, Inc. - PC/Mac

To me they should be the same product with the same components, features, etc. I wasn't the only one confused because another on-line reviewer pointed it out to me. Frankly the whole situation smells like corporate manure to me. Enough odor that after 12 plus years I moved on away from TT Deluxe whatever you chose to call it to HR. Good luck.

WD... Rather than dwell on the differences between platforms, etc., embrace the one that works for you. Consumers have different needs and requirements, and our platforms and product differences allow them to adopt the one that best fits them.

Serious User says:
I think you are confusing the downloadable product from the online product. TurboTax has an online version that you use via your browser (it does not get installed on your computer) vs the downloadable version, which is the same as what's on the CD, that you install on your own computer.

Ha ha ha Bob don't misdirect the conversation. I'm not dwelling on the platform. My issue with TT is; the names and the pricing imply they are the same product with the same features. It's your labeling practice which I find so disturbing. Reviewing each product separately on Amazon focusing on the product descriptions provided.... "which turbotax is right for you" it appears each of the Basic, Deluxe, & Premier editions deliver the same respective features in either delivery platform, online or CD.

To me pulling such a basic feature like schedule D from the online version is deceptive. Forcing the consumer post purchase to upgrade to Premier could be perceived as either a deliberate attempt to deceive or stupidly left out. I assume you're not stupid so why else would you leave S-D out from the on-line version?

I'm not the only one who had this problem I see you've commented to another person on Amazon regarding this issue. I very nearly purchased the on-line version luckily I caught my mistake and moved on.

WD... Amazon does not sell the TurboTax Online version. All the TurboTax products Amazon sells include support for Schedule D (with the exception of Basic). You and others may be confused by "download/CD". This refers to the delivery or media and not the platform.
