This review is from: Melissa & Doug Cutting Fruit Set (Toy)
I was so excited to see this Wooden Cutting Fruit Crate because my older daughter and niece have the old Cutting Food Box but since we are gluten free the fruit seemed like a nice addition for the little kids. Unfortunately it is not nearly the same quality. The pieces don't seem to fit together as snuggly and the velcro isn't as strong so it is more as if the fruit falls apart instead of the cutting sensation the first set has. Also the wooden food itself doesn't feel as substantial/heavy and it doesn't come in a box with a lid like the older set. I don't know if the quality of the Cutting food box has gone down as well or if it is just this set, but I am pretty disappointed.

I agree! The quality on this set is hit-and-miss. The velcro on our fruit set doesn't hold very well, and one of the oranges was mismatched--- the other half of the orange is a different size and shade of orange. It seems like they've cut costs (and yet it was still expensive.)

yes, it is too expensive not to be better made.
