A perfect knock off,
This review is from: EastVita? Nintendo Wii Wheel for Mario Kart (Black) x 2 Bundle (Personal Computers)
I was hesitant to purchase this product due to the fact that I hate dealing with knock off brands. I have dealt with knock offs in the past and had a bad experience with that (it was a knock of game controller). Anyway, the reason I decided to try this item out was due to the fact that I got an excellent deal (I actually won them off ebay for half of Amazon's price) and they were black. I prefer black over white.
Trust me when I say that these wheels feel EXACTLY like the Nintendo Brand. If you were to have me close my eyes and hand me either the knock off wii wheel or the original wii wheel, I would not be able to tell the difference. It has an open hole on the side for the sensor just like the original, it has a button on the back that functions and feels exactly like the original, etc.
Now, onto reviewing the game play with this wheel. I used to not enjoy the wii wheel because I found it to be too difficult and would instead use the nunchuck and wii remote to control my characters. Well, lately I decided to practice more with the wii wheel and it is actually not as hard as I originally thought it was. What's great about it is how accurate it is. If you turn slightly, your character turns slightly. If you turn sharply, your character turns sharply. It's quite accurate and I love how well they did it.
Also, please keep in mind that this wheel, like the original, is just a wheel. In reality, you technically do not even need it to play. You can hold your wii remote in your hands and turn it as if it were a wheel, but in all honestly I like the wheel because it helps me steer much more accurately. It gives me the right feel I need to judge how hard to turn and such and it also is a lot more comfortable in my hands than just using the wii remote by itself.
All in all, I highly recommend this product.

This may be an ignorant question, but as a mom who plays mainly computer games, is there some reason why this specifically labeled "for Mario Kart Racing"? Surely my son could use it with any racing game? Could someone let me know for sure? My sons B-day is coming up in two weeks. Thanks!

I don't see why it wouldn't work for other racing games. It seems to me that all wii racing games use a wheel that is just a wheel (no extra buttons ... just a piece of round plastic that allows your wii remote to snap into so it FEELS like a wheel). The only reason I can see why they labeled this as "for Mario Racing" is due to the fact that it looks exactly like the original white wheel made for Mario Kart, except they made it black with no logo on the back of it.
So unless they invent a new game that requires a wheel that does more than just having the FEEL to it (meaning they added extra buttons or something) you should be fine.
