1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with either Apple Cinema Display or Dell 30 inch monitors, March 16, 2009
This review is from: Apple Mini MB571Z/A DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (Personal Computers)
We purchased two of these adapters for our department and both have severe issues mentioned every where else online. Someone the adapter creates static on dark (black) area of the screen. I believe this is due to the conversion creating noise on black which should have nothing displayed. Also, on the dell monitor, a few times the screen would fuzz up probably due to dual-link adapter reverting to single link. The only fix is to remove the cable and reinsert it.

Apple support was of no help when I called. They referred me to the apple store. This issue is widespread. Apple claims the Cinema Display are working properly but I've tried it on two different monitors and both have issues.

I have the same problem with my two 30 inch displays and both Dual-Link DVI Adaptors. I worked with Apple on this for days and we could not find out how to fix it. It seems like interference. I think the cable is not shielded enough. If you are willing to put in the time, Apple will work with you but I found the problem is not so bad that I can't use the monitors. I just have to stay away from black backgrounds.
