SEO, and not just for WordPress,
This review is from: WordPress 3 Search Engine Optimization (Paperback)
Although the emphasis is on WordPress, the book is a good stand-alone SEO book. It addresses SEO from just about every angle available.
While the book says it is geared for both developers and non-coders, I think that for the non-technical, they will frequently just see gibberish and "blah blah blah". HOWEVER...just skip over until you see something that makes sense again and you'll be fine. The thing about SEO is that there is a lot to it that is not technical in nature and just about anyone can do. If you don't want to learn to write your own website but you want to handle the other SEO aspects, this book can be helpful.
I only give it 4 stars due to how it could be confusing for the non-technical (there is even an explanation of search engines that I find to be entirely too technical and vague for lay-users). That, and there are some things they explain how to do that the non-technical can do far easier via plugin (such as anything that involves editing a robots.txt or changing meta tags).
But overall, the material is solid. I appreciate the avoidance of Black Hat SEO techniques. There are a lot of good references in the appendix. Throughout the book, there are references to other quality websites that address SEO and Wordpress too.
It's good to read from cover-to-cover, and good to keep on hand as a reference book too.
