Well Written Romance,
This review is from: Burning Embers (Paperback)
This is the first book I have read by Hannah Fielding and I will start by saying it won't be my last. I won this book in a competition and what a prize it turned out to be. Hannah Fielding has a writing style which draws you into the book and immerses you in it. The charactersa are real and I felt I knew each and every one of them personally. The main female character Coral Sinclair is a strong character but she also has weaknesses and foibles, which prevents her from being the usual carboard cutout of a leading female in a romance.. The main male character and Coral's love interest is Rafe de Montfort again has many interesting sides to his character. This book is set in Kenya and I found myself being transported there, the sites, smells and sounds are so perfectly described. This is essentially a romance with a some measure of tension and mystery in it's pages. Is Rafe all he seems to be and what is in his past that cannot be revealed. What is the mystery of Coral's fathers final days. I cannot say too much without giving the game away, but this held the tension nicely throughout the book. This being a novel the path of true love does not run smoothly, but it maintained interest in the story until the end. The ending is somewhat predicatble but this does not detract from the book in any way. I would definitely recommend.
