Reliable Classic - Great Watch!,
This review is from: Seiko Men's SKX007K Diver's Automatic Watch (Watch)
I'm on my second one of these in approx 20 years (lost the earlier one- its probably still working somewhere).
This is the work-horse watch. No reason to ever take it off.
+ Great looking.
+ Solid stainless steel
+ Looks authentic. I.e. it looks like a cool genuine Seiko divers classic - and doesn't try to imitate the fancy name brands out there.
+ Excellent Seiko service (in my 20yrs experience - and prior 20yrs in my father's experience). My current watch recently started gaining an hour a day! I sent it to Seiko service centre in NYC - was out of warranty, so had to pay a few $$$ (fair enough). They fixed it quick. Now its right as rain)
+ Value. If you loose it, or in the unlikely event it becomes un-serviceable: You can buy a new one without needing to sell the car. Which is why I wear this when surfing/ sailing/ diving or generally being active - rather than some more expensive watch.
= Good (not great)accuracy for an automatic (will gain a few seconds a day if you're active).
Perhaps not quite as accurate as a more expensive 23 or 27 jewel movement, but not a big deal.
- Rubber strap (I don't like them - sweaty)
- Seiko aftermarket brand stainless steel bracelet is good and solid BUT ultimately fastened with a relatively simple spring loaded pin. But if you do loose it, see last + above.
