Read, maybe. Don't listen,
This review is from: Looks to Die for (Audio CD)This review is of the audio CD version of the book.
I expected a lot more from the plot description and maybe would have enjoyed the book more as a fast read. But as a 9.5 hour listen, it was tedious and trite. The constant references to designer brands was an annoyance. I understand (I think) the author's point in including them, but it felt clumsily done when listening.
If I had read the book, I could have made up the voices and attitudes of the various characters in my imagination. A good narrator helps the listener with that process. Renee Raudman's voice didn't give much life to Lacy Fields, much less any of the other characters.
If you want a bit of fluff, have a good imagination, and read fast, this would be a decent beach read. But I wouldn't recommend the audio version.
