these sets have VERY SMALL pieces, much smaller than classic legos. unless your child has tried one of these sets and liked it, save your money. my girls 9 & ll got frustrated quickly. There are no instructions apart from a few pictures. the tiny parts get lost constantly. I had no idea the parts were to tiny. these are very expensive sets so be sure you child enjoys very difficult building projects.

They are the same size as classic LEGOs. Some pieces are smaller, some bigger. They are obviously different than the LEGOs you buy a toddler (called Duplos), which are much, much larger.

LEGO provides printed colored picture instructions for every set that walk anyone through the whole building process step by step.

This is such a strange comment to see. The instructions are incredibly detailed and easy to follow and the pieces are the same as any other Lego set.

I agree with the other commenters. This is a relatively easy set to build... my 4 year old daughter & I built it together in a short time. The forks, knives and other accessories are small, but all of the Friends LEGOs have these tinier pieces. They're cute and the girls love them.
