Great Magazine App,
This review is from: Zinio: 5,000+ Digital Magazines (App)
I'm giving it 5 stars even though it can't be directly downloaded to the Fire. I know from past experience with Zinio and using it on the iPad and iPhone and computer that the app works great and has a huge selection of magazines from around the world.
According to Zinio's website [...]:
Zinio has an app for Amazon's Kindle Fire! Users who are new to Zinio and register an account through the app will receive a welcome credit by email within 24 hours of registering. Note: some users are reporting an inability to locate the Zinio app download page from their Fire. Users are encouraged to contact Kindle support here to find out why it isn't available for download, despite being approved for the device. If you have a Fire and would like to install the Zinio app now, click here.
Follow these instructions that Zinio provides:
Temporary alternate download method for the Zinio app on the Kindle Fire
Note: these instructions are ONLY for users on the Amazon Kindle Fire. This installer is not supported for any other device.
1. From the main screen, tap Settings > More > Device > Allow installation of Applications (from unknown devices)> select "ON"
2. Download the APK (app installer) from here [...].
3. Select "Notifications" to monitor your download. Once the download is complete, select "Install" and press "Open" when the installation is complete.
We hope you enjoy the app! We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced when trying to install the app.

Thank you for this. I wish I had seen your post before finding it all out by myself. This is all very strange between Zinio and Amazon

I have been using Zinio for the past year to read mags on my laptop. I now want to do the same on my Kindle Fire. I went to the Zinio website and downloaded the KFire app to my laptop. Now I'm stuck. I extracted the files, but don't know what to do next. Where do I find "Notifications," where I was supposed to monitor the download, and then click "Install," as described in step #3 of the instructions? Thanks to anyone who can help!

at the left hand upper corner of your kindle fire, where it says: "(your name)'s kindle" there should be a little "1" in a grey bubble. touch that and it'll bring you to "notifications" where you can monitor the download and install. you can access your downloads from this location from now on. hope that helped!
