1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Packaging caused a leak, August 10, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dry Pak TPU Waterproof and Temperature-Resistant Wallet with Alligator Skin Print Pattern and Removable Adjustable Lanyard (Sports)
There is a sharp-edged cardboard card that for some reason the manufacturers decided to put INSIDE the pouch that is virtually impossible to remove without cutting the card or damaging the pouch itself.

I decided to try to fold the card inside the pouch (rather than to risk a scissor edge cutting the plastic) and did removed it. But after trying very hard not to cut or damage the soft plastic I wasn't successful because the corner edge of the card scored the plastic and effectively cut it open. This then caused it to fail the water test, which unfortunately I just found out before leaving on my trip where I would have needed this protection.

I'm sure the product would have been fine if the makers would have thought about this critical packaging detail. They could have printed the inside card on softer paper or cloth or kept the damn card simply out of the pouch and attached it to the outside via some removable adhesive. But instead, they effectively risked ruining their own product.

We had this problem too. I ordered 2 and I tried to remove the paper without damaging the wallet. I'm not exactly sure how I did, but it was hard.

My husband wouldn't take his out because he was afraid of ripping the plastic.. :-\

The whole problem could have been avoided if they used paper rather than cardboard or if they made the cardboard a little smaller so it could easily come out.

I think i will order this & soak cardboard in water before trying to remove it. Shouldny perforate the plastic then.

Smart and ironic Dolores! Soaking whatever's inside to get it out just to keep the next stuff dry... Sounds like a great workaround. Let us know how that works out?

My fiancé just bought this, and it was packed with a hole on the left side. I didn't even get to try to take the cardboard out. :(
