A bit dissapointing.,

This review is from: LEGO Bricks & More Builders of Tomorrow Set 6177 (Toy)650 pieces sounds great until you realize that most of the bricks are very small (1x1, 2x1) There are not many bricks that are large enough to make much of a building. On the cover of the box, it makes it look like you get a substantial amount of bricks, but it isn't. I'll post pictures of what my box looked like, this set was disappointing for bulking up my son's collection of building materials.

There have been some reviewers that have made an itemized list of the quantity of each size brick, if you could do that, it'd be super helpful!

Price-wise, did this end up costing less than it would to buy bulk pieces at a Lego retail store or via the Lego website? The Lego site charges about .15 per brick (for small pieces). That would make this box closer to $100.

Yes, I suppose it did end up costing less than if you bought open stock lego pieces, but that is always how open stock goes - it's always more expensive. It was just a disappointing box for a starter set. I have images somewhere on my computer of what was contained in the box, but I did not count the number of specific pieces.

I just gave the same set to my 5 year old son, and was disappointed in exactly the same way. We wanted to build a house together, but there aren't enough of the 4x2 bricks to make anything very fun. Very disappointing.

To check brick piece details in any of the Lego sets, just go to www.brickset.com.
Enter the set number at the top right box and click go.
Once the set is shown, click on the parts tab just above the main picture and you'll see a list of the bricks in that set.

okay so there you go....about 355 of the pieces are 1X1 or 1X2, so that means OVER half of the 650 piece box are super small pieces.... and then after that a good percentage are 2X2s.
