This review is from: Thriller 25th Anniversary: The Book, Celebrating the Biggest Selling Album of All Time (Paperback)
There's one thing that really annoyed me about this book: the constant, insistent, unnecessary celebratory tone. Which is a pity, because the book is nice and interesting in its own right. There are interviews from the people involved in the creation of the album `Thriller' and although I read some of this material elsewhere, it is nice to have it all gathered here.
There are also insight into the creation of some of the songs, with anecdotes and a few earlier versions. There's a long section on the video, and some side considerations on the importance of the album, the video and the impact it had on the music market.
But above all there are so many, so many nice pictures.
Yeah, maybe I'd have like a more personal insight into the album and the work gone into it (because a part of the material in here it's really impersonal, and just coming from some other available source), but all in all, I enjoyed the book.
