1.0 out of 5 stars Ads popup even when you are not playing!!! Just like a virus!, January 9, 2012

This review is from: Solitaire (App)
I put solitaire on my Kindle Fire because I LOVE the game. It's a free ap, but beware of HORRIBLE ads that pop up on your device even when you are not using the Solitaire Application!!! For the last few days I've had an issue with a movie trailer popping up on the screen when i was using my device. Then the virus-like software hijacks your other apps and folders to use. It took a while to figure out what was going on, but after a little digging I have found a LOT of other people with the same issue. I had to delete the app and all my settings to get the horrible virus-like application off my device!!! I will NOT ever get another app from this company again!!! If there was a way to rate it with a ZERO I would!!!

I just got a full screen video of a Charmin toilet paper commercial! These new VIDEO ads are totally unnacceptable. I didnt mind the ad bar, but thi is ridiculous! Hence, UNINSTALL!

They must have fixed this because I downloaded this app in March 2012 and so far the only time an ad pops up is right after the cards are dealt. If you are connected to the Internet and select 'winning deal' then maybe 1 in 5 times the ad could be a 30 second Bud Light video. No complaints here about how this app handles ads. For the quality of the game, having one ad per deal seems reasonable.

I'm glad you enjoy the app Brian...i refuse to download it again. Any app that does that is invasive and need not be on my device :)

I have not experienced ads popping up when I am not in the game. I figure that the occasional ad is a fair exchange for an app that cost me nothing. I will continue to play :)

One ad per deal?!?!....unacceptable. Thanks for the warning. I'd rather pay a buck or two and be ad free. I'll look elsewhere.

That's not as bad as it sounds since each game takes about 4 minutes or more. If you do another deal seconds after a deal because you don't like the cards, it doesn't do another ad. They really put some thought into the ad structure so it is not annoying. But I do wish they offered an ad-free version for a price.

The game is great, but as one reviewer notes, the pop up ads are constantly interrupting. Not sure what I am going to do because of this . Seems nothing is really free.
