Photoshop Elements OK, Premier Elements Awful,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 8 [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
Okay, I'm not really going to add much to the reviews that hasn't already been written, but Premier Elements 8 is a dog. Photoshop Elements is actually okay, I use it, and it works for what I need for the moment. Fortunately PrE 8 does not require one to uninstall a previous version. I have Premier Element 3.0, and I really like it, but I would never suggest PrE 8 to anyone. It is such a pity because I really wanted to start editing in HiDef (I have a Canon HV20), and until now I have only been capturing Standard Def and SD Widescreen. Now, PrEl 3 can capture and edit HDV, but I *thought* it would be improved with PrE 8. It is definitely not. I purchased Sony Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack Movie Studio for the capture, and Sony Movie Studio worked once I captured to my internal Hard drive (capturing to an External HD, even though it is a FireWire 7200 RPM HD did not work. It dropped as many frames as it captured). But I am much happier with Sony Movie Studio.
As to PrEl 8, I suggest you stay away, and instead for about the same amount of money, purchase Sony Vegas.
Good luck in your Video editing projects.
