Perfect add-on to my Nike+ iPod Sport Kit,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Polar 2013 Wearlink Nike+ Transmitter Set (Sports)
I have had a Polar S210 Heart Rate Monitor Watch for about 10 years and I've been perfectly happy with it (still on the original batteries!), but a few years ago I bought the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit and the S210 stayed in my gym bag. Recently I decided to reintroduce heart rate monitoring to my fitness regimen and was not surprised to find that my older Polar transmitter, which still works on the Polar-linked equipment at the gym, would not work with my Nike+ receiver.
Setup was quick and easy, and I like the seamless integration with the iPod and the Nike+ website. The transmitter sends an audible "chirp" through my Nano 6G so I know it's working, which is nice. The strap is marked "M." I have a 46" chest and, fully extended, it just fits. The all-elastic strap is more comfortable than the old half-plastic transmitter, and has a user-replaceable battery. I used the MapMyRUN app on my Android phone to recalibrate my shoe sensor. It's possible that I could have gotten all the same functionality (and more) with the Nike+ SportWatch, but I really only needed the basics. If I ever do get super serious about my running, I'll look into it. So far, I'm more than pleased with my current setup.
