This review is from: Where Darkness Dwells, a Great Depression horror novel (Kindle Edition)
It's difficult to believe that in today's world, you can get something good for "free", but that's exactly what happened with Where Darkness Dwells.
Received as a free Kindle download, I really didn't expect too much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Set in a small, old mining town in 1934, two boys, Jimmy and George, embarked on an adventure, never to return. The body of one of the boys was discovered, or at least what was left of it. Thus begins this enthralling tale of life above and below ground in Coal Hallow.
Stories in Coal Hallow speak of the Underground where the infirm and the dying can go for a new chance at life. In tunnels below the town, lies a world untethered to rules or morals. As long as these individuals stay below ground, they can remain healthy and strong, but above ground their bodies would quickly decay.
What would you give up to live forever below ground? To remain healthy and beautiful?
This is a story about secrets. About good and evil. About bravery and cowardice.
