This series just gets better & better, read it now!,
This review is from: Three Odd Balls (Cue Ball Mysteries) (Paperback)
Jesse is plotting her new book as her alter ego Adele Nightingale. This gives Jesse a perfect excuse to go with her boyfriend, Wilson, on a sunny vacation to research her novel. The destination? Hawaii of course. However what begins as a perfect romantic holiday soon turns into a vacation for five when her mother, her literary agent and Wilson's son decide to come along. However, the holiday takes on a dangerous course when a man is found stabbed to death in her mother's bungalow.
I've enjoyed the first two books in this series immensely and naturally I was looking forward to another adventure with Jesse, Wilson and of course Jesse's cat, Snowflake!
This time Cindy Blackburn is taking her readers away to Hawaii for the Christmas holidays. While I shiver here in the snow, a holiday in Hawaii sounds just perfect. However, I'm sure I could do without the murder and mayhem that greets Jesse and her family and friends in Hawaii.
The mystery itself was suspenseful and difficult to solve. I was having a hard time trying to figure out if it wasn't Jesse's mom, then who was it. After all the dead man was found in Jesse's mom's bungalow, with Chris, Wilson's son, on the scene as well. Not to mention that Chris was half-naked. That sure does sound suspicious right?
I liked the mix of Jesse's family and friends that join her in Hawaii. We get to learn more about Wilson's son, Chris, and Louise, Jesse's literary agent, is so outrageous and there are many laugh-out-loud moments with not just her, but Jesse's mom, Tessie, too.
Three Odd Balls was another wonderful instalment in this series. I've never played pool in my life, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this series. The characters simply bounce off the pages, and combined with a compelling mystery I guarantee that every mystery fan will enjoy this series.
