Great reference for applied work,
This review is from: Linear Mixed Models: A Practical Guide Using Statistical Software (Hardcover)
This book covers how to fit mixed models (multilevel models, hierarchical models, clustered data) using several popular software packages (R, SAS, Stata, and more). One strength of the text is that it uses diverse examples including two-level models, three-level models, repeated measures, and longitudinal data. It covers several software options in detail and it much easier to follow than the manuals associated with these packages. I don't think this book is meant to teach theory even though it does include some. More importantly, it describes the link between the theory and software output. All of the examples are conveniently available on the author's website and can be run without errors and further manipulation.
