The sole did not hold up,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Caterpillar Men's Dimen Steel-Toe Oxford (Apparel)
For me, the moment I put this shoes on I know they were great. I wear them probably 3-4 times a week. I got them on May 19, 2012. The feel was like no other work steel tow shoe I ever had. True to size, hugs the feet and gives a very nice and comfortable feeling. The only disappointment was that a week ago (that was the reason I gave the purchasing date) I notice that the sole on the right foot shoe was entirely split from one side to the other. (I could feel my sock getting wet for a while without knowing why.) I checked the left leg shoe and that is half cut also. I cannot wear them on wet or snow which is pretty much where I need them. So one will have to make their decision on if the price is worth having the shoes for a year and a half or not. I have to mention that no other part of the shoe got damage though. I am surprised that during normal wear and tear this shoe got ruined in such a short time. I’m still debating myself if to get another pair or not. There are not many other good options. Prior to these, more than 3-4 year ago, I bought two pair of Converse steel tow. The difference is night and day as far as the comfort is concerned but the Converses are still in usable condition while Caterpillar is not.
