This review is from: The Science of Skinny: Start Understanding Your Body's Chemistry--and Stop Dieting Forever (Paperback)
As a family doctor I have spent $150,000 for my medical education. I have learned more from Dee McCaffrey's book, "The Science of Skinny" than I learned throughout all of my years in medical school (and I only spent $16.99 on it!). I have Dee's book prominently displayed in all my exam rooms and I encourage all of my patients to read it. Every doctor and patient who is struggling with weight or poor health must read this book. In my 30 plus years of practicing medicine I have never encountered anything as life changing as this book! I give it my highest recommendation!

I wish all doctors spent some time studying nutrition and whole food. Patients, too.

I read the book, I enjoyed it, and i learned a few new things from it, but not even a hundredth what I learned from my mere bachelor's degree. For a doctor to state that he learned more from this book than his entire medical education - that is simply ignorant. I realize that many doctors cause more harm than good and that many of them learned mostly arrogance in medical school. It doesn't seem logical however; that a doctor would come out and state this fact by saying one simple book teaches more than an entire medical education. Why belittle your degree, your livelihood, and more important, the faith that so many unknowing people put in their doctors? Just to brag up a good diet book? This is the most ignorant, harmful, and dishonest review I have ever read. Possibly the most arrogant as well. Patients that put their lives in the hands of a doctor that knows less than what is in "The Science of Skinny", put their lives in great danger.

Why are your opinions so negative? What in this book could possibly put anybody's life in danger? I can easily see how Dr. Blair Goodsell's review can be a truthful one and by no means a harmful one. For one this book made a huge difference, for the better, in my health. I have been considered a healthy eater by all that know me my whole life, not until I read this book did I find out a much easier way to feeling GREAT and looking much better. My blood tests were much better after just 6 months. I also look forward to my next bone density test, and I most certain my doctors and I will see an IMPROVEMENT.
