This review is from: KATE GOSSELIN: HOW SHE FOOLED THE WORLD (Kindle Edition)
After reading about this book online, I could not wait for this to be available. As a former fan of the Gosselins who gave a 'love offering', the information in the book was upsetting and disappointing. I was definitely duped. A must read that definitely has me rethink who I donate my hard earned money too. Also, glad to see that any money made from this book is donated to CASA of Pennsylvania.

I have heard that "money" from this book will be donated to CASA - not "any money." I don't believe the percentage was mentioned. It's easy to see that could be misleading. I'm happy if any money will be used to stop child abuse - but I don't think "all" of the proceeds will be.
Just clarifying that part.

I have not (yet) read the book. But I did read Mommie Dearest (I actually read it *because of Kate* - maybe two years ago). So I can extrapolate. Based on the way Kate treated Jon *on camera*, I could only guess how she treated small, helpless children behind the scenes.

I was duped - but only for about 3 episodes. Then I was annoyed, and then I was curious, and then I googled, and then I read a lot of stuff online. But yes, of course, her whole act was designed to dupe people.
I'm still dumbfounded that she would document it all, though.

In re: to how much money will be donated, I have no problem if the author uses funds to pay for his lawyer fees incurred because of threats by Kate Gosselin and TLC against the books publication.

I hope money does go to child abusive prevention and treatment. There is so much neglect and abuse of youngsters.

Yes. She was rude to Jon; however, I heard him be rude to her by complaining that she gave candy to the kids. Do that privately not on TV.

I agree. However, Kate has drawn more attention by starting a lawsuit. In addition, so much of what Hoffman wrote about has been on the internet.
