This review is from: LeapFrog Twinkle Twinkle Little, Scout (Toy)
My autistic 10 year old son never attached to a stuffed animal until he got this toy. He LOVES his Scout! He kisses it good night, and Scout sings him to sleep. When he is tired or sad, he goes and gets Scout, sits down and listens to the songs, and begins to feel better. The toy is small - about the size of a large can of soup - and light, so it is a good weight for a 1st time bed toy for a little child. Aside from Scout's blanket, nothing is detachable, rip-off-able, or swallow-able. The mechanism/battery case is accessible through a sturdy, strong velcro closure on the toy's stomach. The songs are sweet, not annoying at all, and instrumental. The nature sounds are also soothing and non- annoying. I highly recommend this toy, and would own a case of them, just to have as back-up, if I could, since it is so helpful to my child. (also comes in a lavender colored version).
*UPDATE*: Just ordered our second one - the first lasted two years under constant (every night) use. Even now, the only issue with the first one is that the buttons are wearing out, and I want to replace it before it does not work anymore. I enthusiastically recommend this toy to everyone I meet who has a child who is just learning to sleep by themselves, or who needs a little company to help fall asleep.
