1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible watch, March 31, 2011
This review is from: Luminox Evo Navy Seal Blackout Mens Watch 3051.BLACKOUT (Watch)
I purchased this watch about a year ago (online) from an authorized Luminox dealer. My experience so far;

Pros:
Unique design
Light weight
Swiss made
Superb for night or day use
Manufacture backs up product

Cons:
Broke down (hands stuck after 5 months)
Cheap band, slips out of place frequently
Cost $10 for repair (return shipping, to & from east coast)

Overall I rate this watch 3 out of five stars, due to failure after only five months of use, which caused cost to me for repair. Beware; many online retailers of this watch ARE NOT authorized Luminox dealers. Any warranty is void if this watch is purchased from an unauthorized dealer. Though many retailers sell this watch for $250+, I would not pay more than $200 for this watch.

UPDATED 8-19-12

The watch stopped working several months ago out of warranty. Repair costs are as much as a replacement watch. I cannot recommend this watch; worst watch I have ever owned. I really wanted to like this watch due to its design features. Maybe I received a "lemon." Back to wearing my 18 year-old Casio DW-290.

I have had two of these "Navy Seal" Lumox watches, purchased from Amazon, and not one of them lasted two years. I hope the military does not use them!

This is not a real luminox, go to an authorized dealer and get a real one.

I did "go to an authorized dealer" and got the real luminox 3051.BO. I confirmed with luminox the retailer was a authorized seller of the brand before purchase. The warranty was valid on the watch when I sent it in for repair (which cost me $10 for shipping). Mine was a "real luminox" and a real piece of junk. I would suggest buying a traser watch brand to anyone looking for this style of watch rather than luminox.

Do some research, traser watches are everything luminox claims to be but better. Traser watches are made by MB MICROTEC, "mb-microtec ag situated in the village of Niederwangen on the outskirts of the Swiss capital of Berne is a family owned company with approx 80 employees. The company is housed in two buildings, 1 building housing the GTLS production and the other building housing the administration and the production of traser watches."
