4.0 out of 5 stars Great product overall, slow focus, January 6, 2012

This review is from: FinePix S2950 14 MP 18x Wide Angle Zoom 3.0 LCD Digital Camera, 720p HD Movie, Dual Image Stabilization, Full Manual Controls. Bundle Includes 8GB Memory Card, Card Reader, Deluxe Carrying Case, Mini Tripod, and Lens Cleaning Kit. (Electronics)
This product was shipped super fast. I ordered it on Wednesday and had it in my hands by Friday. Unfortunately, for a few reasons I returned this product the same day.

I bought this camera to be a step up from my previous Canon super-compact. However, the feature that I was looking for most in the new camera was FAST focus. This camera does not; it takes a second to a second and a half to focus. I suspect that the picture quality is better because of it, but for me it is more important that camera take pictures fast.

Although I only had the camera for a few hours it seemed to have a nice screen, clear options and a quality build for the price.

Thank you for your response Ali.

What camera is best for each person depends on that person's needs. I take sports pictures for a small local newspaper sometimes, so I need a camera that can take passable shots of moving subjects, therefore a rapid focus. This does not appear to be a need of yours, which I respect. What I find strange is that you take the time and effort to deride my review.

Sincerely,
Ian Benjamin

Thanks for noting the time needed to focus. A rapid focus would also be important to me, as all-too-often, a couple of seconds is all it takes for that perfect photo opp to vanish.

I agree on the focus. I tried on of these out in the store and though I loved it, it took too long to focus. What did you end up with?
