5.0 out of 5 stars HDR-CX7: Excatly What I Hoped For, March 20, 2008
By Niqmo
Length:: 2:03 Mins

This camera is exactly what I wanted, a mere upgrade from the HDR-UX1. No more disc rotation sounds, and extremely high-quality video.

Video taping at night is a bit low quality, but all you have to do is turn on the night vision, and everything is crystal clear all over again!

This camera is outstanding.

 Alan B. Cring says:
The video was helpful. I will avoid this camera, now.

That whining sound in the background is most decidely something I don't want in a camera I would use for broadcast-quality videos, and the image stabilization seems to have been on vacation while you were walking around. You were not moving fast, you seemed fairly deliberate in your motion, and you are not a rank amateur when it comes to video, so that lack of stability was probably not just you overwhelming a good image stabilization system.

On the other hand, that one panning shot in the kitchen gave me a decent hint of the cinematic "hurl effect" quite nicely for a camcorder. I think the whining sound helped.

Did I mention that whining sound in the background? It's really a showstopper for a video camera from a company that is supposedly known for its sound systems.

All told, good video review.
