Better than the Asus VG248QE,
This review is from: BenQ XL2420TE 144Hz, 1ms High Performance 24-Inch Gaming Monitor (Personal Computers)
After using the Asus VG248QE for a couple of days and being severely disappointed with the overall white washed / dirty contrast and poor RBG scaling I decided to return it and order this one. Straight out of the box the BenQ is better in terms of color/image quality, which most higher refresh rate monitors (120-144hz) suffer from. Although it still isn't an IPS panel, it's the best that TN panel will get at this refresh rate. Worth the extra $ over the cheaper Asus counterpart.
If you're on the fence with spending the extra, you'll get what you pay for. If you feel like dealing with horrendous display profile programs and having to switch modes every game then save your $ and get the Asus VG248QE.
If you want better out of the box/hassle free and the best color reproduction you'll see at 144hz then spend the extra $ and get this monitor.
If my opinion isn't convincing. Check out Linus' review of the Xl2420TE.

I agree, this is a better monitor. One thing I HATED about the asus one that DROVE ME NUTS was that dumb pivot mode! They added too many unnecessary features that gamers don't need. You buy a widescreen monitor to game, why would it need to rotate into portait mode? This monitor is nicer because you can swing it all the way into landscape mode and it stays perfectly level on your desk, the asus would swing back more than it should (like 6 degrees) And it was always a disasture trying to clean because it would accidentally turn the screen!
