5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Apple's Smart Case!, November 2, 2013
By
This review is from: Logitech Folio Protective Case for iPad Air, Carbon Black (Personal Computers)
Originally, I wanted the Apple Smart case since that's what I used previously on my iPad and I liked it a lot, but couldn't find it anywhere. Instead, I found this case, bought it just to use in the mean time while I get the Apple case, BUT, I am surprisingly shocked how much I like this case. The feel of it in your hand is really comfortable, it looks extremely nice and doesn't cover up any ports, so it keeps the sexiness of the iPad. At the same time, there is a 0.5-1mm border around the case so that if you do drop it, the sides are going to hit the case, not the iPad (excellent!). Additionally, the extra border actually ENHANCES the sound because the 1 mm border acts as a surface to bounce the sound towards you! Really neat! I love this case, plus it's cheaper than the Apple case I was going to buy!

These have not been released yet. How did you get hold of one?

Best Buy has them in stock according to their website. Search the item number: 939-000630. It didn't show up for me using the standard sorting methods provided on the website. Grabbed the item number from Logitech's website.

I ordered one from Amazon a couple of days ago before they were "temporarily out of stock". Should get here tomorrow, but I've been wondering the same thing--Logitech's site still shows them as available for preorder, so I wonder how some retailers apparently have some in stock.

Does it have the auto on/off option?

Yes, closing the cover puts the iPad to sleep. The cover has magnets that keep it closed, but they are not strong enough to keep it secured if it is jostled in a loose backpack.
