Not what I expected,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Snugg iPad 2 Case - Smart Cover with Kick Stand & Lifetime Guarantee (Distressed Brown Leather) for Apple iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
I recently bought an iPad 2 for my wife and wanted to get a cover with better protection than the standard cover from Apple. I thought it would be nice to have a real leather case and based on favorable reviews of this case and the "Leather Case" in the title I decided to buy the Snugg. Upon arrival I noticed a few things about the case. It looked nice, and the quality, stitching and features were impressive. But, in my opinion the case did not look, feel or smell like real leather. My wife said the same thing. I went back to Amazon and looked more closely at the description, other than the title, and noticed it said PU leather. I didn't know what it meant so looked it up on Wiki. It was described as 'bicast leather' and said the following: ... a split leather with a layer of polyurethane applied to the surface and then embossed. It said calling this 'leather' is a misrepresentation and is not allowed in some other countries. My wife also said access to the charging plug was sometimes difficult due to a mis-alignment of the pad and case. Since this case was not what I expected I ordered the Bear Motion 'Genuine Leather' case from Amazon and it arrived today. The quality is very nice in every way and it does look, feel and smell like leather. Both myself and wife much prefer the Bear Motion cover over the Snugg and I gave the Snugg 4 stars due to the misleading description.
I added a photo comparison between the Snugg and Bear Motion covers. I think the Bear Motion cover looks better/richer in person than what the photos show. Either case would be a nice addition depending on your personal preferences for colors/textures.

Do the Snugg and the Bear Motion both work as a stand exactly the same? Or does one or the other seem to sit at a better angle, or stand up more securely??

It's been a year since I compared them and I don't recall any issues with stability on either one. Just judging from the photos I posted it appears the Snugg might have slightly more angle/tilt as the 'catch' appears to be located higher on the cover. Also, the base/bottom of the Bear Motion appears to be at least a 1/2 inch wider which could help with stability. Our Bear Motion cover is now a year old and still has a leather scent. Both covers look good and are well made, so it would be hard to make a bad choice.

Below the photos on the sale page, click on View All 43 Customer Images. I have several photos but they are not together. Each photo shows the Snugg and Bear Motion covers together.
