I don't understand why people keep comparing the Streisand of today with the the Streisand of the 1960"s-yes her voice has changed to some degree, but In many ways she is a much better singer today. BACK TO BROOKLYN is a masterwork of a brilliant actress and a brilliant vocalist merging as one. Not since Judy Garland has a singer been able to communicate with an audience so completely . We should all count our blessings that we still have Barbra putting herself out there.

Joseph, I have been a Streisand fan since she was on Ed Sullivan and I disagree that her voice is better now than when she was younger. Just listen and like all the other big stars from yesteryear, she can't hit the notes the way she did then. But her voice is still amazing and I still love her.

I'm sorry but as someone who has dedicated a large portion of my life to the study and practice of Theatre, the poster nails it perfectly...Ms Streisand is the generational interpreter of song, as Garland...One a generation. And what you are hearing is all the experience this unique performer has lived. Yes, Ms Streisand...keep them coming! If you want the Sixties, put that CD on!

Agree about being thankful Streisand is still out there doing it, always sad we lost Judy at such a young age & Barbra keeps on going and sounding great! Got to experience Barbra's awesome concert last year at Hollywood Bowl, when she came out with "On A Clear Day" as socko opener, knew we were in for a great show and it turned out phenomenal, nothing like those once in a lifetime legendary Diva's & for my money give me Judy & Barbra any day!!!

I agree with your statement without apology or qualification: Barbra today is better than ever. Her albums since (and including) A Love Like Ours are the best of her amazing career. She interprets and connects better than ever before. Back to Brooklyn is the new pinnacle of her work.
