This review is from: The Christmas Elf (Kindle Edition)
I got this because I loved the picture on the cover. That is the only likeable thing about it. It certainly isn't a book, and I'm not sure it qualifies as a short story. There are a total of 47 single-spaced lines, not counting several that are repeated near the middle of the page.
The original story was apparently typed on a sheet of paper which was cut in two. As mentioned, a number of lines are repeated at the place where it is cut. The scanned copy was crumpled and smudged, and it was scanned sideways. In order to read it on my Fire, I had to lock the screen so the page wouldn't keep rotating as I kept turning the Fire in an effort to get the text upright.
This has the feeling of a child's classroom assignment, but I teach 10 year old English Language Learners who write better. The grammar is atrocious, there are incomplete sentences, tenses switch randomly,...
Don't waste your time (as little as it takes) or money. I got it free or would insist on a refund for this one.
Oh yeah, and that cute cover picture? It appears to be a screen-shot from a game called Sam & Max: Season Two. Is that legal?
