Cooking for Beauty,
This review is from: Cooking Your Way to Gorgeous: Skin-Friendly Superfoods, Age-Reversing Recipes, and Fabulous Homemade Facials (Kindle Edition)
4 1/2 stars.
As the title implies this book is for foodies, but it's also more. It's a book about healthy eating and natural beauty. It's about eating foods containing the vitamins, minerals and fiber for good health. A healthy body is a beautiful one and comes complete with an inner glow--the type of glow that makes others think, I'll have what she's having!
With my love of cooking and healthy eating, I was predisposed to like this book. The recipes are great, and as I read through Cooking Your Way to Gorgeous, I bookmarked several to try at a later date. I also liked the snippets at the beginning of each recipe detailing why a particular ingredient was good for you. Although I already knew some of this stuff, I learned new things too. Interspersed with the recipes are beauty treatments for hair, face and body that you can make at home. These I found really good, and I've bookmarked a ton of these too.
My slight niggle with this book: I live in New Zealand. A few of the ingredients such as Truvia Baking Blend aren't familiar to me and I needed to break out Google. The measurements are also only for America. While I can do cups and spoonfuls easily enough, the sticks of butter and a few other ingredients required Google and calculations.
This book would make a perfect gift for girlfriends and wives/girlfriends who love to cook or who have an interest in natural beauty. It's one that I will refer to often, and I definitely intend to try several of the interesting recipes and beauty treatments.
I received this book via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
