Oops! $0.00 That's okay--NOT the author,
This review is from: Massacre at Moniac Crossing (Kindle Edition)
I'm NOT the author, so I'm not here to 5-star my own book. In fact I haven't read this book, but stopped by, noticing that 5 months after the author's own 5-star "review" (during $1.99 pricing), there have been ZERO reviews, and the price has been cut to $0.00! What to make of that? Perhaps in another 5 months, there will be an offer to pay the reader $1.99 to read this book.
To the author... please don't shill your own book in the ratings area, but please do participate by "commenting" in the ratings area. You can start with mine.
Because I must rate this book to post a comment I'll give the benefit of doubt with a middling 3-star.

I understand your frustration, but isn't this just as bad? The author may have affected honest ratings with her 5-star post, but you are also affecting the rating with yours without reading the book. I suppose your rating will counteract hers and that would be okay, but I suspect others will come in here to self-police and her book will have a rating totally non-reflective of the book itself - - which will only hurt the readers trying to get an honest opinion of the book.

Another oops! I apologize for this "shilling" of my own book. Sorry. I'd just started publishing in ebook format and didn't know any better. I hope you will read the book and maybe try rating again. See me at www.janicedaugharty.com

It's not the first time she's rated her own books, which I don't think an author should do. I may read this one since it's free, but probably won't be purchasing any unless this one proves to be an outstanding story that really deserves the 5 stars she gave it. If rating them was accidental, she should contact Amazon and have her reviews deleted.

Looks like she did, so all is right with the world. :-)

I don't mind the author reviewing the book as much as I mind someone who has not read it reviewing the book.

D I says:
I agree, A. Fox, as long as the author is up-front about identity (as this one seems to be.)
The gracious response is speaking, as well.

well said A. Fox. Well said. This was an opinion, not a review.
To the authors, shill your own books all you like. People will like them or they won't. you can't please everybody.
Book Bot - Keep it real ok? Read the damn book first.

This is not the first book this individual rates without reading. Before you rate a book try reading it!
