This review is from: Rockland Luggage Vision Polycarbonate Three-Piece Luggage Set (Misc.)I wanted to wait until I had traveled with this set, in order to give it a fair review. I got the three-piece set in Pucci, as a gift before an overseas trip (to Finland and a Baltic Sea cruise). My fear was that the wheels would become damaged, as that has happened to every piece of rolling luggage I have owned (I suppose the gentle treatment of our U.S. baggage handlers just wasn't gentle enough).
I need not have worried! A long flight that connected through Chicago, and then on to Finland, then on to a cruise ship, and then back to Helsinki, and THEN being rolled over cobblestones, brick paving, concrete, toted up stairs, dragged on to buses, and so on -- the wheels have held up beautifully! The finish has scuffed some, and in one corner, the bag was so abused as to be scraped down to the fiberglass/plastic/whatever, but that's just decor. The function has been retained.
These bags are light, and might even feel a little flimsy, due to a lack of "heft", but they are workhorses. When used in conjunction with the e-bags (also on Amazon), I was able to pack quite a lot of stuff in to them. All three sizes (including the small) come with a zippered side, with handy sections, while the other side has the cross-fastened stretchy thing.
The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is what is probably a minor quibble, but enough that I ran into it a few times to make it stand out. Because they are hard-sided, if you want to add something small to them, you almost always have to entirely unzip the suitcase, add your item and then rezip it. You can't just stuff it with some give at the top. In addition, if the carry-on had some sort of outer pocket, I would be over-the-moon in love with these. I saw one in the Skyway magazine that claimed it was the only hardside with an outer pocket, but it definitely was a great idea.
Otherwise, these are a great investment and well worth every penny (and more!)

I, too, loved my Rockland 3-piece hardside luggage (I have the Garden design which is black, grey & white butterfly print.) I recently purchased mine the end of July 2012 and have traveled via airlines three times and via auto once with my luggage. I recently returned from Albany, NY via airline and discovered one of the wheels were dragging. Once I arrived home from the airport, I saw that the wheel was only holding on by one screw; the other two had broken off at the plastic casing that holds the wheel onto the corner of the luggage. I have contacted Amazon.com via email, as well as, the manufacturer and neither have responded to my request for repair! I am a little disappointed in Amazon.com, because they were the "seller" of this product but yet they have not taken the time to respond to my request or offer any assistance or recommendation on repairing my luggage. I did read in a recent review that there was another buyer who experienced a broken wheel after the first trip; not sure if they were able to get their luggage repaired! Other than the broken wheel, the luggage does very well and is durable. Looking at the wheel casing, it should be rivited onto another piece holding the wheel by some other material than being screwed into plastic! I will purchase Gorilla Glue and repair my wheel and let you know how that works!!

Did you ever get your wheel fixed? I'me getting ready to make another overseas trip with this, and hoping not to run in to any trouble. I wish there was something that would allow you to either take the wheels off or tuck them into the case somehow. I suppose someone will design that eventually!

I am considering buying these for my daughter. I'm wondering if you've made any additional airline trips since your review, and how they've held up?
Any info appreciated! :)

I have made three more international trips with them, plus a few domestic trips. I just got back from St. Thomas having used the smallest carry-on one. They have held up so well. The outside gets a bit scuffed, and there are a few gouges, but that is totally the fault of the baggage handlers and in no way diminishes the use of these bags. I have received so many compliments on them, and they pack very easily. I have overstuffed them, to the point of sitting on the suitcase to zip them closed, and the zippers have not failed (although I have thought about getting the wide 'belts', just so that I feel better about it). They are lightweight, and roll so smoothly.
the only thing I would do differently is that I bought the 'Love' pattern for my daughter, and it is by far the cutest! I think I might have simply gone with a different color, but it could be also that the 'wow' factor has worn off for me, because I do still get lots of compliments on each trip. And they are so easy to pick out of the baggage claim! Feel confident in getting them, knowing that they hold up very well!
