This review is from: Alice in Deadland (Kindle Edition)
Summing this book up in a simple statement goes like this: I couldn't even finish it.
There were several small, but annoying typos (he instead of she, then instead of than, etc.) Either something goofed when the book was put into Kindle format, or the editor did a terrible job. The writing style wasn't that good either. I'm sure that Mr. Dhar is a nice guy who has other works that are wonderful, but this one just didn't do it. This was obviously a Hunger Games rip-off. A young girl is reluctantly thrown into the role of savior of a post-apocalyptic civilization, battling the powerful and controlling central government. I could be describing either book. It's just not an original idea. The most irritating thing is how descriptions are beat over your head. We're told at least 3 times in the first chapter that Alice is a wonderful fighter; the best her instructors have ever seen. By the third time I thought to myself: "Yeah, I get it. She's freakin' Rambo. Does she have a personality?"
Don't buy it; even if it's 99 cents.
