This review is from: The Avengers: Volume Two - Captain America Reborn! (Marvel Super Hero Collection) (DVD)
Marvel has always impressed me with its comics, animated shows, movies and more. Marvel animated cartoons have been going on since the 1960s with its 60s Spider-Man.

Many cartoons today are pretty awful. I have been closely to losing faith as cartoons today have been pretty much gone downhill. But on that day when I went to the San Diego Comic-Con and paid a visit to the Marvel booth, I saw something intriguing, a poster advertising Marvel's latest action show: Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes is the latest animated series produced by Marvel. Avengers:EMH debuted on Disney XD October 20. It is far better then the god-awful Avengers cartoon from 1999 which did not get a good press. What is very odd is that when people first heard of Avengers:EMH, everone said,"oh no, this was gonna be "too kiddy" and not for the teens and/or adults because its on Disney XD. Those who said that were terribly mistaken. Avengers:EMH is far from "kiddy". In fact, it is very similar to the Batman TAS and the 90s X-Men animated series. It has recieved positive reviews from fans and good ratings. Some say it is even the 90s X-Men of this generation.

Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes follows the adventures of Marvel's greatest heroes, Iron man, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Panther and Hawkeye as they battle the most diabolical villains. The episodes are very loyal to the comics as the Avengers start off as solos but unite in the first episode and new members are added as they progress.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!" stars the well-known voice talents of Rick D. Wasserman ("Planet Hulk," "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3," "House M.D.") as Thor, Brian Bloom ("The A Team," "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2") as Captain America, Fred Tatasciore ("Tron: Evolution," "Hulk Vs.," "Wolverine and the X-Men") as The Hulk, Wally Wingert ("The Family Guy," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno") as Ant Man, and Phil Lamarr ("Mad TV," "Futurama") as Jarvis.

If you want action, adventure and/or just simply adore Marvel, then don't miss Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes. This will be a must-have for Marvel fans of all ages.

Here episodes in volume 2.

1.Some Assembly Required-The Avengers are now united and Iron Man shows them their new home, Avengers Mansion. As the Avengers discuss their plans to catch all the escaped super-villains, Enchantress places a spell on Hulk and sends him on a rampage.

2.Living Legend-While searching for the Hulk in the Northern Hemisphere, the Avengers stumble upon Captain America who has been frozen in the ice since WWII. After thawing him out, Captain America find himself in a changed modern world. As he adapts with his new friends, Baron Zemo and Arnim Zola unleash a terrible monster on New York.

3.Everything is Wonderful-A business decision by Tony Stark leads rival Simon Williams to go to extreme measures for revenge- he seeks help from the Grim Reaper and AIM. Now transformed into the ionic powered Wonder Man, Simon takes the fight back to Tony Stark! But the only one there to defend Tony is the one Avenger who dislikes him the most- Ant-Man. Has Tony Stark changed? Plus, it's Wasp and Thor versus MODOK.

4.Panther's Quest-After stalking the Avengers for days, the prince of Wakanda, alias the Black Panther turns to the Avengers for help to take back his throne from the nasty Man-Ape. To make matters worse, HYDRA and Klaw are after the vibranuim.

5.Gamma World part 1-The Avengers are sent to the Cube, a dangerous prison for gamma-exposed prisons. A dome of gamma energy envelops the Cube, turning everyone inside of it into a fearsome gamma monster. S.H.I.E.L.D. and Doc Samson know that the Leader and a host of super villains are inside...but worse, the dome is expanding. The Avengers are going in, but they're not prepared for what they find inside. Meanwhile, Hawkeye catches up to the traitorous Black Widow.

6.Gamma-World part 2-Things go from bad to worse as the nasty Leader unleashes gamma energy and turns half of North America into ferocious gamma monsters, including the Avengers. In 24 hours, the entire world will be under the Leader's control. Our only hope? Hawkeye. His only hope? Finding the Incredible Hulk and convincing him to stop the Leader from turning Earth into Gamma World.

I am curious as to whether or not they will have the remaining seven episodes of season one evenly distributed on these DVDs or if they are just going to release them as a third part. For unknown reasons, the show has taken an extended break on Disney XD and they haven't finished airing the first season. There has been no update as to when the new episodes will air. This may be why season one is split into separate DVDs, but I'm sure its just Disney knowing it can make an extra few bucks off of children and the generations of loyal, old school fans. I'm certain that this series will unfortunately suffer from some cash cow syndrome.

That aside, your review is informative and well written, I'm sure most curious fans and parents of aspiring super heroes will be satisfied. =)

Jeph Loeb stated at C2E2 that new episodes will start airing in May, to coincide with the "Thor" movie release.

These are currently on DisneyXD (?) and me & our son love them; We watch them every day and they bring back the memories of the Justice League back in the day. For anyone that wants something that sticks close to the comics of old and the classic feel, this is it. Some of the character models are updated (Stark has that 'Downing Jr' look, but is good) and the comic lore is true to its roots. Great review - I know these will be in our house and used for a long time :)
