Go Laughing into that Good Grocery Store,
This review is from: How to Be a Person: The Stranger's Guide to College, Sex, Intoxicants, Tacos, and Life Itself (Paperback)
I'm far superior to college students, and yet I still need help. I don't know how to do all kinds of silly grownup things because no one bothered to teach me, and because my loving parents really helped protect me from the horrors of things like speaking to mechanics and breaking bad news to past lovers. I took inspiration for my intellectual blossoming from George Perec's LIFE: A USER'S MANUAL, metaphysical assistance from Richard Brautigan's IN WATERMELON SUGAR (as all will be done, and done again, in watermelon sugar), and now, at last, my practical crutch: HOW TO BE A PERSON. It's even funny! Like life!
