This review is from: Nikon Coolpix P7000 Horizontal Leather Case (Camera)
At first I was really disappointed with the fit of this case. It was like a new baseball glove, just didn't quite fit right and wanted to stay partially open with the camera inside. So I treated it like a baseball glove by wrapping a couple of very large rubber bands around the case with the P7000 in it and leaving it overnight for a few nights. The result? Fits like a glove now, and not a baseball glove. The P7000 is a BIG point and shoot camera. It's not a DSLR and it's not a pocket camera. Same goes for this case. It's styled like a point and shoot case. I personally love the magnetic closure, which most reviewers despise. I don't have to bother unsnapping something or fiddling with a trigger latch or pulling a strip of velcro that gets the subject's attention. Instead, I just tear the camera from the case by pulling the the neck strap and dropping the featherweight case to the ground. It's kind of like having a gun in a holster, always ready to quick draw and shoot. I understand everyone's complaints, and they are entirely valid. But there are certain circumstances in which these shortcomings can be advantages, too. It now fits my camera very well, gives a reasonable measure of protection, and doesn't get in the way when I'm ready to shoot. I don't leave many reviews but I thought I'd live a devil's advocate review on this one. Hope somebody finds it helpful.
